I usually go on the other side of the bridge somewhere between the bridge and Barnby Dun.
Only been to that section of the canal once.
That was lure fishing.

Re: Forum pike trip 2009
yes andy thats the fish i was on about, mind you i would not have turned my nose up at that perch you had on the lure, that was a real dog perch
bye the way the fish weighed 19lb4oz, and as you can see it had no belly, in feb/march i'm sure it would have been around 24lb, it had the length.

to be honest MBA i always assumed it was a twenty.... i'm surprised that it weighed even an ounce under!! i agree it certainly looks like it has the length

You & Lefty aren't doing a very good job of "selling" this outing to the rest of us, Andy...

No guarantees in this game Bazz. I have always struggled on here, but I have seen others catch nice fish. One day my time will come.

Re: Forum pike trip 2009
well i have no problem fishing a more difficult venue as long as some of us catch fish.... even if its not me that catches!!!
just a point but what about inviting duane since he is in bad need of advice.... i mean i realise he'd probably have a bit of a drive to get there but the advice we could give if we were all face to face with him could be invaluable in helping him catch his first few pike
