Anybody catching?
I was throwing a Sweet Shad 66 from Ace last night after a commando like treck over a moor to get to a secret trout water I discovered. I had 3 to 12lbs but the water level was very low, which is odd considering the amount of rain we've been having but hey-ho, at least I didn't blank. I also caught 2 perch on a 11cm jointed Abu Terminator, which was good.
Anyone else been out?

Hi there.
Went yesterday and got 3 Jackies to about 6lb.
OK, not massive but won 3 Nil to my fishing mate !!!
All caught on sprats, float legered.
Got the first one soon after casting out the bait and caught the same one twice.
Poor Gav never got a take all day. Shame

Nice going Santahill.
I'm getting the deadbaits out tomorrow. Not sure where I'm going yet.
Fingers crossed.

Let's hope the weather gods are smiling Andy.
I got visitors tomorrow otherwise I would've been out testing my single hook rig
I'll see what I can manage next weekend.

Fished the Torne and took 4 pike, first 3 were jacks and the last one a double.
Smelt on one rod for three pike including the double. Other jack came on headless herring.
Very pleased.

last cast pike
got this 16lber at about 8pm today.Cast a fox jointed runt in citrus green towards an overflow,Let it sink about 6' then i ripped it hard.Got hit immediately,I was using a med jerkbait rod with 100lb braid. The pike really went for it & the thumps through the stiff rod had to be felt to be believed...Please excuse the photo but i was on my own & literally jammed my k850i into a tree to get the shot.

Gardener tackle do a screw in camera attachment for banksticks. I bought one and now I don't have an excuse for not taking pics, even when I'm lure fishing. It's hardly any more weight carrying a bankstick. At £2.99, it's not cheap for what it is but it beats sticking your camera up trees.
It's good for taking all your pictures when you're out because you get a completely still photo. Even when I'm behind the camera, I set the timer and let it do all the work. No matter how still you imagine you are, ther bankstick makes all the difference. Set the camera up at every swim. It takes about a 30 seconds to set up. Just point at another bankstick or a bush or something, to get the frame size and then simply set the timer and place yourself witin that frame. Easy.

Saved from a blank
Went fishing yesterday and spent the first 4 hours of the day scratching my behind, wondering if I was fishing just a little too shallow for comfort. I decided to apply a little effort, retrieved my baits, changed them to fresh baits or freshened them up with liberal helpings of salmon and smelt oil. In no time at all, I had turned a blank round and got myself 2 missed runs, a wee jack, a 14.5, a 16.5 and a 25.5. Twas grand.

Re: Anybody catching?
Some nice fish in here guys
Was out at the weekend and caught 2 wee jacks, a 9lber, and my best to date......a 22lber
First 3 were all caught on a black flying C with the big fella on a small kinda feathered spinner......
....one of these of ebay:
I actually duffed the cast but the pike struck the spinner as soon as it hit the water
Was out earlier tonight and landed 2 jacks both on a red flying C.

hi guys. managed a few hours today on the canal at crowle, not a sniff. tried deads and lures but nothing. its still very weedy down there and the water is crystal clear. may be worth a look latter on in the season, but would give it a wide berth for now. THE MAD BAD ANGLER

Re: Anybody catching?
I went to the Torne and blanked yesterday
Water clear, bit of a tow to it with some debris floating past. Lots of small fish in the margins and hiding under overhanging bushes etc. but no show from Mr Esox.
Tried everything I could think of including lures to no avail.
