Harald, with the exception of Shads, I don't think you'd benefit from the lures I suggested on standard spinning tackle. The Ace Sweet Shad and the Salmo Slider are jerkbaits, which would be fished using a baitcasting setup consisting of a 2-4 oz trigger grip rod, a multiplier (I use an Abu 6501) and 65Lb+ braid like Power Pro.
On the outfit you have, you'd be looking at straight retrieve lures for the most part, like spoons, inline spinners, spinnerbaits, bucktails, plugs and crankbaits, shads, swimbaits, grubs, jigs. Basically any kind of lure that doesn't require input from the angler to achieve the desired action.
What rod, reel and line are you using Harald??
....Andy....
So, I need a stiffer rod to use those lures ?My rod and reel now are just some crap,I have to buy new rod and reel before the season begin.I was thinking about shimano gear. Do you recommend any ? Especially a rod which handle both types of retrieving and techniques ?

I managed not to lose any yesterday, which is good going for me, even though i did end up chopping all the hooks up to get them out of my net..
The photo was taken during my "Ernst Stavros Blofeld" days in the 1960's, just after i had picked my nostrils....

Re: Favourite Lures
There are three lures that have been catching for me.
1. Salmo Slider 7cm Real Shiner (floating)
2. Savage 4 play herring in roachy/silver
3. Chartreuse Spinnerbait.
It is hard to pick one from these three so I won't
Next month it might be different and that's the beauty (and expense) of lure fishing.

Expense, tell me about it!
Savagegear 4 play multi-jointed lure...i have one of them...Herring style! Yet to catch on it but a brilliant action or what! The Savagegear stuff seems very good, from what i have seen. Pro-Logic do good Carp stuff, too
Salmo...the Polish Lures..look a good bet & so lifelike

Re: Favourite Lures
Nice review Andy. They are for me the best lures Ive used followed closely by the 4play Prologic ones. I think I got carried away and bought at least one for every occasion in all different patterns. I have however done best on the 10cm Real Grey Shiner (the fish in my display pic was caught on this one). Ive been planning on re-doing one in a "Finding Nemo" clown fish pattern for a laugh

i like the fox deviant, in hot tail, it works great on big deep waters. i also like the look of the 4 play lures from pro logic, they move brilliantly through the water!!!

I found 2 Abu jointed Terminators on the river bank tother day about 9cm long. They both look brand new and must have just been left there.
Are they any good? Ive not had a chance to give em a go.
