not much of what you have is good for lure fishing you need a lure rod really and probably some time served fishing to get the best out of the method

Hi Micky
Can I let you into a secret?
Once you begin to look at spinning and lure fishing it WILL draw you in and SUCK the money out of your wallet.
Is there any specific advice that you need?
Equipment? Rods? Lures? Braid? Reels? Methods?

Re: Hellp spinning
I had that Mitchell reel. it was great for general spinning. It got spoilt when I hooked up with a canoeist! Trent Piker on here saw the whole affair & didn't laugh once!
I also have a Mitch 300 from the 1970's which my parents bought me as a pressie
The Grey's rods seem to have a good reputation.
Spinning has been pretty productive for me, not in fish quality but put it this way, the 1st time I ever purposely went spinning for Pike at 15-16yrs old, I caught a Jack. When I got back to spinning in March this year, I caught 3 Pike on the 1st trip!
Biggest was about 6lb. I have had a few blank sessions since, mind you....
