That is an impressive carp he's got there, but have you noticed he's using the old 'arms outstretched holding subject closer to camera to make it appear larger' trick?
And why would this be posted in the non fishing section?
Unless it is actually something else disguised as a fish

Actually I think he's using his elbows on his knees to help take the weight of the fish. That's a big fish. I don't believe you could hold a fish that size outstretched for long without giving yourself a hernia. I think he's just using his knees to take some of the weight.
You pick up 30lb of fish and see how long you can hold it outstretched.I bet you'd start shaking after a few seconds. Take some weight on you knees and it it takes a lot of the weight off your arms.
I might be wrong but that's my guess.

Forgot to mention it is 37.5lbs.
It would have been better placed in General Course Fishing, I put it here as it is a photo, albeit a fish
Moderators feel free to move it

Well you have more experience of big carp than me so I appreciate you're opinion on the matter. Cheers Mate. It just supports what was a theory and nothing else.

I'm not doubting the fact that is a hell of a fish, quote "That is an impressive carp he's got there" unquote, and you are correct in saying that he appears to be taking the weight of the fish on his knees.
I totally agree with you Andy, I'd even start quaking with a stickleback what with the state of my back! In fact, ever since changing the brakes on my ageing Volvo on Sunday, I've had a horrible 'tooth-achy' feeling in my lower back. Every time I do anything that involves any strain I get it.
When I caught my PB pike at 16lb 8oz, you will notice that I have it rested on my knee. This fish caused the ache so god knows how I would feel with a 20 or more

I should re-phrase the expression "beast" as farmers around here call their cattle "beast".
Maybe......... a damn good water pig..?
