RC Plane - Help
Yallreet folks,
My mate gave me his RC plane the other day as he bought it on a whim and has no idea. Unfortunately neither do I and wondered if anyone is into this sport/hobby.
Its a big thing with a 6ft wingspan and a little nitro motor. I would like to give it a go but know Ill probably crash the thing into something expensive.
Any help....

I know very little about RC Aircraft but a fair amount about model boats and tanks! I do know there are a lot more regulations attached to aircraft. They are on a different frequency to model boats, cars & tanks etc for starters. Cars/boats, tanks can all be run on 40mhz FM or 27mhz AM. I think aircraft including helicopters are on 35mhz..
He/you will doubtless need to join a club.....for insurance if nothing else. You certainly can't go down to the local playing fields to fly her. That said it is an addictive, fun hobby & some of the model boaters I know are ex aircraft flyers. Its a pity but an old friend of mine, a retired Whatton Prison Officer was an experienced flyer and would have got in touch with you. Sadly he died of Liver Cancer about 18 months ago.
Browse the internet & get on a forum or two is my advice, go as a guest to a local club etc....

I know someone who paid £100 for a BIG model glider, 1st time out went up the biggest hill in Nottingham at Wollaton Park and let it go. It caught the wind, went up, up and out and just kept on going, wouldn't come down and was never seen again HAHAHA
