Just checked out that 42inch.net link you posted noodle.

Contacted the guy and he sent me the link to his instruction/parts list page.

I may give them a go, but I'm the first to admit that I can't solder to save my life. scratch

thing is its not fiddly soldering like it would be on circuit boards is it.

You're right, it's not fiddly stuff but my soldering either never holds or looks like bird poo!

ok they were around 40 quid i think but that seems to be a standardish price for these sort of things
