Anybody Catching? (not pike)
Thought I'd start an 'anybody catching' thread for course fishing so we don't get mixed up with the Pike thread.
So post away!
So post away!

OK, I'll start then.
Went fishing at a day ticket near Leven.
Bagged up on Roach, Rudd & Skimmers.
Caught most on float fished casters.
Had a great day

Nice one mate!
I know we don't name venues on this forum to protect Pike but I'm sure there's no problem for other fish?
Correct me if I'm wrong Admin?
I was fishing at Ray Fosters Rob, and was going to guess you went to the same place but never heard of ide or chub in there?
Probably Tiger lake?

Oh dear Kell ! Hope you're ok?
That always put me off when I see damaged fish. I tend not to go back to a venue when I see them like that.

you got it in one mate it was tiger lake... i'll definitely be going back there, the owner reckons that once the weather warms up a bit more the tench come on the feed and apparently the place is stuffed with 'em

incidentally i've just been up to fosters with my daughter to see adams big bro for a bit, he'd had 1 bream in 4 hours so i just had to upset him lol, i rigged his feeder rod up and caught 2 in about half an hour. afterwards he was sat there saying "i'm not pissed off, honest!!".

Re: Anybody Catching? (not pike)
Well my Pike gear is all put away until October and I’ve decided to spend a bit more of this year fishing for Carp.
So for my first session I chose a day ticket venue where I’d heard of a few fish coming out.
The session started off well with plenty of liners but unfortunately they came to nothing. After 4 hours of frustration I moved swims.
I did start to think if I’d done the right thing when I noticed others were catching and was yet to get a run but things soon changed!
At 3.15pm I had a one toner and after a few minutes I had my first double and a new PB on the mat. A Mirror Carp weighing in at 10lb 10oz. Magic!

About an hour later I noticed my line was moving sideways across the pond but nothing was registering on the alarms or bobbins. I lifted the rod and was into another fish. This one put up a grand account of itself and took me about 15 minutes to get in.
This time it was a Ghost Carp and another PB at 14lb 2oz. Fantastic!
I took another photo but this one didn’t come out very well at all.
Once I've tweaked it I'll post it up.

Re: Anybody Catching? (not pike)
I've been busy blanking for carp
Did manage to put a mate onto a fish that broke a 3 month blank spell (he's been fishing some rock hard waters in fairness).
It was only about 10lb but put a smile back on his face and the fire back in his belly.
Gonna be hitting a local pond soon just so i can get a few fish on bank - hopefully some tench if the weather continues to warm.
Roll on June 16th...

Re: Anybody Catching? (not pike)
Had a 7.5lb Common 2 weeks back, which is a new PB for me. I know it's not big league carping but it is a match fishery so for the venue, it's not a bad fish at all. Stalked too with a lovely prawn about 10" under my float....
Made my day anyway.

Lovely Ghosty Nightwatchman
Cracking fish Paddy
And well done on your PB Andy
We've been away at the east coast near Skeggy for a few days in our caravan
The site we were on had a few lakes on so i had a few hours on Tuesday evening and a few on Thursday
Monday
Had some roach on maggot feeder but i wanted something a bit bigger so changed to 10ml white chocolate bollies with blockend feeder and 4ml feeder pellets which i had soaked for a minute to make them a bit sticky !
Had a few twitches and knocks then the rod tip shot round and i was in to a nice fish and it put up a great scrap on my medium feeder rod and 6lb line
But i soon had it in the net and unhooked and weighed then my wife who just happened to have walked down with a cupper for me
took this pic

It pulled my scales round to 10lb 3oz my sling weighs about 3oz so a nice 10lb common carp
Didn't get anymore bigger fish for a hour or so so had the last 30 mins on maggots again and had a few more roach
Tuesday
much the same as Tuesday really roach for a while then on the pellet feeder and white choc bollies Nothing so tried sweetcorn and almost instantly i was into a fish
It was a nice little Tench of about 2lb

I thought i was into them
but no that was my last fish as it was time to pack up But i enjoyed every minute of it A few more bigger fish would have been nice but it was cold with the wind in my face
I might try here again later in the year
