Unknown water
Usually I go to the waters I fish as are known for holding pike...however i'm wondering how people would approach a water that has no known history of pike being caught due to them never being fished for (to anyones knowledge - think former carp syndicate water alongside a big stocking of silvers etc that went in about 10 yr ago)
I'm sure this place has pike - it just looks right lol
Question is, how would you approach it for the first time? Gut instinct is saying try the lure rod before taking bait rods down there (it's a trek) etc

Re: Unknown water
Lures sound like the best way
Or you could try sink & draw this is a good way to cover a lot of water same way as you would with lures
Plus you don't need a lot of tackle to weigh you down
