scrap or not

scrap or not

ok here is the situation........
i spooled some new line on a reel yeaterday, and left the rod in my bedroom, tonight (when i got home from work) i have found the rod in front of my bedroom heater, and the heater is on full blast. went to move my rod and it is very hot............ would this mean my rod is scrap?

Hi alex, I would not say its scrap if you let it cool down to room temp at its own pace, But they can stand some extreme conditions you know, If its a carbon or Carbon core rod then there should be no problem, Ask Bazz what he thinks when you next see him,

carbon fibre needs a temp of over 300 c to cure, so i doubt that a normal radiator will have much effect, of less someone can tell me other wise Question Question

Well i was told by bazz to tug it around as if i was playing a decent fish (or the tree in back garden) and then check for visual signs of damage....... nothing turned up so it is in good nick.. I Have now replaced it with a Shimano vengance spinning rod
