Depth tester

Post  Ayrshire-Piker on Fri Dec 03, 2010 8:41 pm

hi, could anyone tell me where i could get hold of a depth tester i could use from the bank, i had one for years but managed to lose it, it was like a plastic tube with a screw at the bottom, when it hit the bottom the pressure would fill it up to show whatever the depth was

only work in water over 5 foot, good investment, less disturbance than a marker float

A marker float setup. It doesn't have to be a 3oz weight with a massive float. A small bomb with a wee loafer does it too. As long as you can see it.

Neville Fickling at Gainsbrough sold them. Give him a try.

i still have one somewhere in the garage Rolling Eyes
but i like to use a slim long float and a 1 or 2 oz lead, with braid you can get a pretty accurate depth when paying line out (system.) Smile
