Post  Andy Webster Sun Feb 27, 2011 2:08 pm

for the first time this week and I love them. I cut them in half which released loads of blood. I'm definitely using them more in the future. Had a few runs on them too.

Anyone else tried them?

PS Thanks to Ian Swannock at The Tackle Shop in Gainsbrough for talking me into trying them.

Had seven runs in two sessions. Swapped a bluey for a mackerel that had been out for 4 hours and it went in 5 minutes. An hour later I had three runs to the same rod in 15 minutes and all on blueys. Next session I had three runs in an hour and ran out of them. They were about a fiver for 5 blueys. Cut in half I got 10 baits at 50 each. Good value for the runs I got on them.

Five fish. I got the bait back on one occasion with a tiny jacj pike shaped mouth bite that missed the hooks. Recast it and it went again straight away, and I mean straight away, and it was a sixteen pounder.

They are very silvery and have a similar flesh to the herring. The spine is tough to put a hook into, but I also found that the tail snaps quite easily. Although that is due to them being too long for my bait bag. I tried to bend them in while still frozen.

I always get mine and cut them in half while still frozen before wrapping back up in cling film individually Cool

sound advice tootall. I can't see me needing to use them whole. I'll do that in future.

The Tackle shop will post them to you. And they provide baits for other shops. Give them a ring on 01427 613002.

I can't buy a run on them. Don't ask me why but they look awesome and they're super oily. I think it's just the day's I've tried them.
