Viral alert!

Post  Lefty on Sun Apr 03, 2011 10:47 pm

I discovered this afternoon that my laptop was infected with a virus and had emailed everybody in my address book.

The majority of you should be ok but I do know that Andy Webster and Andy Macfarlane were in there. Sorry if you receive(d) any bad emails from me Crying or Very sad

I have now scanned and cleaned up my laptop so all should be well now. However, be careful if opening opening any emails from me. Apparently it was just a link to a website but you never know for sure what these things send out.

Again, my apologies for any bad emails sent.

My mate phoned me earlier to say that his PC was hit with a virus after opening an email from me. It may just be a coincidence that he got it after checking the emails or he may well have got it from me. He doesn't go online very often so it may have been sat in his inbox for some time.

To be safe, I have reinstalled the operating system and programs and got myself a new email address.

If any of you lot recieve an email from russ.coburn@yahoo.co.uk then DO NOT open it. Just delete it.

Sorry for any inconvenience caused.

Been running AVG and Zonealarm on auto updates for years and never had any problems. I got some crappy e-mails from various people but as yet, I haven't had any reason to freak out.
