Anyone getting out lure fishing?
It's a good time for throwing the lures around guys. Anyone been out lately? I haven't had a chance yet and I know some of you will be chasing those soft mouthed submarines but someone must be getting out piking.

Out sunday from late afternoon till dark !
I will thrash the water to foam just for 1 take , i have had only 1 session piking since the end of 2009 due to a bad leg break and 4 months on crutches, weeks of planning for last season down the drain so frustrating but i'm back in the game !

I've been down to the canal a couple of times but not even had a follow
In fact, I've seen hardly any fish activity whilst there.

I hope you made a good recovery Applehead. How did it happen?
Good luck with the session on Sunday too.

I've never had much success on the canal Lefty, a couple of pike on lures and nothing on deadbaits. I've never really given it a good shot though. I always get disheartened and go on the drains instead. Can't do that at the moment though.

some nice fish there Patch. Great photos too. I like the idea of adding extra attraction to your lures. I'm not sure I'd have belly hooked it though

Just waiting for the sun to get up a bit earlier and then it's up the park for some big perch before the parkies come. It's not actually illegal to fish for them but the parkies make a nuisance of themselves because they don't like mono and wildfowl in the same water. Fair enough I suppose. It's kept the noddies off.
I just need that extra hour or so to make it worthwhile going up. The parkies are up early.
