a couple from this mornings adventure :)
I managed to drag myself outa bed early this morning and headed for my local lagoon
i managed to do 2 laps chucking every lure i had at the water and not a touch i know theres some monster perch in there but they just dont want to know id left my jerkbait gear at home and as usual id wished i'd taken it lol
All the sighns i could see where water pigs splashing about and the wind got up so became alittle choppy i nearly went back to the canal but decided on fishing another still water i know (it couldnt be anyworse than yesterdays blank on miles of canal) lol
i decided on just having a few chucks in each swim then moving on i stuck on a 2" black and white kopytos and i was in straight away
the fish was released and had a couple more casts and i was in again (didnt get a pic was a little smaller than the first)
i had another cast and had my first recapture lol
so upto press that was 3 fish and for me thats good lol i did a quick lap of the lake and couldnt buy a bite so dropped into the same spot as before and like before first cast and i was in it was a good low double i must have been putting much pressure on the rod the lure just pulled straight from its mouth near the net and lure darted towards me lol i went onto loose a further 4 more fish i cant understand it id swapped kopyto after the lap so my hook was sharp and i was striking must be just 1 of them things i think or im hoping if all the fish was landed today would have been a really good day for me but cant complain 3 fish is better than a dry net and a sulky face lol 3banked-5lost pikeys winning lol
1 thing puzzles me should pike still be clumped up together this time of year??
also this is where im getting my little lures from really good most my fish of late have come on the 2" ones and even the 1" and there cheap

Isn't the Mach 1 a great wee reel? That's what I use for feeder fishing.

Aren't small pike cute? All the tools are there, great colours, just waiting to grow into a lunker.

If they ever get to that size. Hardly any small fish grow to be lunkers. The vast majority end up and something's dinner.
