Out of Action

Post  Andy Webster on Mon May 23, 2011 9:33 pm

Last Friday I had an op to repair a hernia. Its given me plenty of time to catch up with the Sky+ planner.

If you're going to have an operation then its always handy if its in the off season. Then it doesn't impact on the piking lol!

Thanks fellas.

I am guilty of being naive about this op. I really was not nervous about having it done, but the concern that others showed me led me to think that I should have been. It is now almost two weeks since the op and I am still in quite a bit of pain and the area is still swollen. I can't walk very much, after 10 minutes on my feet I am in agony and have to rest up for a while. The doctors said I will be able to dig a trench after 6 weeks. I said thats great, I couldn't dig one before so that will be a bonus lol!

Has anyone had this done? I am wondering if I should be improving quicker.

Andy

I had one done about 20 years back Andy and it was painful but i was building a stone fireplace 4 days after the op with some help from my brother who was mixing the morter for me Smile
Looking back it was a bit silly cos if it had split open the repair op would have been much worse than the oridginal op !

Just take things easy Andy you will be up and about before you know it mate Smile
