Too true Stubbo, been in the hunt for new grounds today, everywhere I've been though has been getting hammered at the weekends...not what I'm after :'(
No Stubbo, no canals. Thinking about trying a local Farm lake tomorrow. There was supposed to be a large "twenty" that came out a while back. Hardly anyone fishes it for pike ive been told.

Re: anybody catching
Well i fished a new venue for the first time today and im glad i decided to go there even if it was to be a short session 3 and half hours lol
I arived at the venue to be greated by mark green and martin (travman) after taking there advice i jumped into a swim that looked topnotch for it the rods where soon out 1 on sardine fished on running ledger,
1 on smelt suspended under float it wasnt long and the sardine was away i eagley struck into a solid beast but it was not to be...............
I recast another sardine and within 10mins it was away again it felt a really good fish (as good as jacks usually go for me lol ) but the beast's head soon popped out and it looked huge to me so after a little scream to greeny and travman to lend a hand with the netting the beast was soon on the mat....
14lb of sheer power lol
I ended up having 1 more run after that but as normal i was just about to eat a sausage roll and i got a screemer i hit the fish but nearly passed out with lack of oxygen because id rammed the sauage roll in my gob i took a bigger gulp and the rod went with my head dipped FISH OFF!!!! but u win some u loose some and i had a briliant mornings fishing

Just had a thought, maybe its my brightly coloured chair frightening them off Stubbo !!
