we been on a canal so not tried for livies but when we on the river then we try catch a livie but can never get a sniff at this time off year so we just go on deads and lures all year round till about august till september then we use livies in the bundle off tactics

i reckon always use as fresh a deadbaits you can get, and leap frog the rods if poss, with a short time in each swim. you will cover a lot of water that way. worked for me the other day. no one else caught a thing, but i kept working it and had 2. not huge, but it proves it works.

all that moving keeps you warm as well !! Very Happy

everyone to their own. i just cant be arsed with Lure fishing. i like to stick the deads out and wait for a big un. works most of the time , with a few blanks thrown in mind, but it can be worth it. Very Happy

i like the dead baiting doug but when things are slow its nice just to past time chucking out a few shads and it pays off some times seem to be getting into the lures more these days think its because of the boat fishing of late.Shocked
