Carboflex issue?! Empty Carboflex issue?!

Post  tootall on Thu Jan 12, 2012 8:30 am

Anyone noticed any changes in the way fox carboflex is being manufactured?

Been using this stuff since they launched it and love it...however the last lot i bought in my usual 20lb bs just will not twist properly. I always use the twist method and have never had them give until now.

For some reason when i've made up my trace and are testing it by pulling on a couple of knot pullers, even under moderate pressure the twists just slip and unravel...

Not changed anything about the way i make them or the hooks i use etc...just finding it a bit wierd...

Not noticed any difference but saying that I've moved over to titanium and crimps, I can swap any part of the trace at any time without having to swap the whole trace, also no kinks with titanium Wink

How weird Tootal. As i said, ive seriously never had one fail yet. I use drennan 7 strand. Ok, maybe not the best trace wire, but it works for me m8.

probably applying to much pressure with the crimper or there was a fault with it

I've used carboflex from day 1 but in 40lb with crimps and have never had any probs at all.

It was a long time piker who told me to use 40lb carboflex with 20lb diawa sensor main line and he's had a few 30lb+ and never been broken.
