Hand warmers.... Empty Hand warmers....

I was browsing an Archery Shop website yesterday & noticed they are selling a pocket hand warmer for £10. It is fueled with lighter fuel & runs for about 12hrs per charge. Wonder if its any good for Piker's? Suspect

baggy pants work out cheaper and there is less chance of setting fire to yourself when you refill the hand warmer with petrol cos youve run out of swan fluid Laughing

Once had one that used charcoal sticks, eventualy it was getting difficult to buy the sticks & you dont see them now. I am not worried about catching fire... Laughing theyre perfectly safe but suspect my hands would end up smelling of fuel Rolling Eyes
Food for thought.... Very Happy

Maybe better to stick to my Buffalo Mitts... Basketball

Gloves and pockets seem to work ok for me.

Got told by Jack Purchase when I was in his angling club in the early 80's to stick my hands in the water and wait a few minutes. It worked!!

It was bitterly cold that day and we had gone to Roundhay Park in Leeds. Had to break the ice to be able to fish.

I think it's because it caused the 'hot aches' that they felt warm Laughing

In the 70's i fished on the Trent a lot for Roach, Chub etc..... There were loads of Power Stations along the river & it was nick named "Mega-Watt Valley"! The water was warm & there were loads of double figure Carp being caught. Not the same now, some of the stations have been decommissioned Crying or Very sad

can't recommend these enough:

http://www.amazon.co.uk/Magic-Gel-Reusable-Hand-Warmer/dp/B000MU4IJ2

Really effective (stay warm for about 1-2 hours), cheap and you can use them over and over again (simmer in water to re-activate). Awesome.

There you go Kell. Jeff says you can try warming your hands on his nuts any time you're feeling the nip. I reckon that's pretty generous of him....lol
