heard of someone that there is no close season in the lake district. is this true?

Remember that although the closed season has long been abolished on stillwaters,it is still enforced on running water i.e. rivers,streams and drains etc.
Also,whoever controls the fishing may enforce a closed season of thier choosing even on stillwaters so it"s still worth checking before you start.

Also some lakes, although are open all year, you cannot fish for pike in the closed season

yeah you cant fish the rivers but you can fish the big basins on them like grassmere coniston etc

close season is a joke, there is no restriction on pike fishing in cumbria im aware of with regards to the closed season
