Carbon tax to force up price of fishing equipment
Carbon tax to force up price of fishing equipment
from another forum
I just got through reading an article about how the Chancellor of the Exchequer, George Osborne, is planning on some late budget changes. What it boils down to is he's planning on introducing a new Carbon tax in the next few weeks. Essentially this is a tax on all goods which use carbon fibre in their manufacture.
The new proposals are that all goods using carbon fibre within their manufacture will have an additional 20% levy added to the manufacturer's sale price which will go towards combatting environmental issues created in the manufacture of carbon fibres.
This isn't the end of the bad news. The government is also proposing as part of this "war on environmentally unfriendly manufacturing" a new insurance tax. Essentially all insurance companies will be required by law to add VAT on top of Insurance Premiums Tax for 'Sporting Goods'
Essentially this means insurance of sporting goods will be raised by 20%, overnight.
