Yes mate, check out the Indian supermarkets for bulk tins of chick peas(found them for as little as 1.00 for a 2.5ltr tin)they take flavours well and don"t ignore them as hookbaits.

a good supermarket sells both,if you want a easy basemix for the first time use 70% soya flour and 30 % semolina.easy to roll, takes colours and flavours well....if you put more semolina in it will desolve like pellets, you could make extra like that with your flavours ect to put a carpet of bait down Very Happy

Ive just done shed loads of Chick peas with almond and vanilla flavouring. Simple to do and a hell of a lot cheaper than buying tins of them. As long as you do the following they wont hurt the Carp.......................................

Soak for at least 36hrs ( you can put food dye in at this time and they soak it up well ), then boil for 20 mins until they crush in between the fingers without to much pressure. After they cool off, i put in a resealable poly bag and add the flavourings. Shake well then freeze. they hold the flavour well like this, thats what i have found. Anyone know any other good way ??

You can buy big bags of chick peas from health food shops.
