Eels as bait
I've just read in the Anglers Mail a piece about not using eels as bait. I've never used them, even back in the day, always favouring fish and once or twice using lamprey. Are they still sold in shops since being classified endangered, and what's everyone's views?
Re: Eels as bait
some bait firms are still selling them as far as i know. but eels used are apparently ones deemed unfit for human consumption for whatever reason so those for sale are a by product not netted for purpose, i think. i will happily be corrected on this thoughpetestanley wrote:I've just read in the Anglers Mail a piece about not using eels as bait. Re: Eels as bait
Doesn't matter what bait I use I usuly blank lol well that's how last winter went .
I usually use A roach for the natural approach then a bigger stinky bait on the other rod .
Eel ? Never used it . I do like lamprey though so guess it's almost the same but more bloody.
This year I will be using roach ( au natural ) on 2 rods and a sea dead and a lamp on other 2 . Seen as though my lad is coming with me this season . See which does the most fish
