New PB - SMASHED......

DONE IT... broke my 20lb pike barrier, taken me 3 seasons top be fair and its the target fish which i new would achieve it.

this fish "The Pet" was my previous PB @ 19lb 5oz, i have caught her many times ranging from 18s to low 19s and NOW FINALLY, she has hit the mark.

20lb 9oz - BEAUTIFUL [][]



my next target fish is the 23 which was caught about 7 weeks ago and also the 19 which i know will also hit the 20.

She looks a proper "big girl" , plenty of character, i wouldnt like to be a coarse fish in her lake. Get in Dave, well chuffed for you mate.

Probably cos it has broke the magical 20lb barrier, for someone that hasn't had a twenty, like me for instance, it really is a big deal no mater what your last PB was

we all strive for that first twenty then that elusive thirty would be nice to catch but it depends on your outlook to catching pike lets face it we all like catching big pike or is it just me....

Cracking fish well done on the pb looks like it could go a bit bigger come feb - march

pike are pike just relax and the big uns come! what i mean about daves catch is a little bit of the magic is gone as he has allready caught the fish a few times i think dave will be more happy with a 20 that he aint caught before!

thanks guys.... ill explain a little further, why im happy....

this fish was by PB @ 19.5oz, and YES i have caught her a fair few times, but no where near that weight of 19.5oz (cant help you fish a lake and catch the same fish from time to time)

i knew this fish would break the 20lb barrier and i had a few doubters saying it wont, thats its top weight (i wasnt giving up until i proved people wrong)

i also know in this private lake there are fish bigger than 20, you have to simply TRY and catch them (not easy). My target WEIGHT from this lake was a 20 REGARDLESS of which fish is was, it happened to be the one i knew it would be HENCE WHY IM EXTREMELY HAPPY

i friend of mine caught a 19 last week, which i know will hit that 20 mark, they are feeding like crazy at the moment.

i wont be fishing it now for a little while and letting it rest.
