Which brand of trebles?
ok guys, so which brand of treble hooks do you use?
I've always used the Fox Predator brand but they are getting a bit pricey?
Are there any good alternatives?

I used to use drennan all the time then changed to fox not sure why, but last week as I pushed one into a deadbait it snapped, so not sure about buying fox again

Re: Which brand of trebles?
depends, I like tebles to be fairly soft I've not much use for these brittle new things from trendy companies, if it was purely for bait fishing I would use eagle claw 374's I think the ones I use are, and any of the bronze vmc's cand drennan treblesnightwatchman wrote:No such thing as a bad treble then?

I primarily use the Fox ones too. Very strong and never had one open out on me. I also like the red VMC's.
One brand i would not buy again are the savage gear ones as i have had several of them either open up on me or had one of the trebbles actually snap off resulting in lost fish. One of which would definately have been a PB.
Pants.

If those are the ones in a yellow packet that a lot of shops have in on pike boards, I was reliably informed they are vmc hooks
Re: Which brand of trebles?
the savage hooks are incredibly sharp on the same level as fox but not had any problems with them yet ...you might of had a bad batch pal .....but if you lost a good fish on them it would put you off buying them again same heretootall wrote:I primarily use the Fox ones too. I believe they did have a yellow label but I was sure they were packaged by Angler's Rendezvous themselves but I could be wrong. I know the ones I have have banked shedloads of doubles and a few 20s and they stand up to a fair amount of abuse. One 20 twisted one of the trebles right out of shape but it didn't break and still held on.
