anyone took any temps lately ? really mild weather should bring on the spawning process.

iv'e not fished much at this time of year but seeing someones catch every other day on this forum changes things.

Anyone heading for the spawning grounds yet??

in general the colder the water the slower the sport will be ,thats what i have found lately but i have been catching on the lures apart from the last session which the temps were up so that scupped that theory think a lot off the lads fish in the summer time when the pike are more active probably not high summer.......and yes the takes on the lures are very aggressive at times i fish for them on fly rod at times and you can see them come up behind several metres bow waves then it hits the fly exiting stuff mate

In deep water the temperature will make little difference. It's always four degrees down below thirty foot or so and if the pike are used to being down deep then you'll still catch just as well if it's minus ten above.
