Re: live baits
Doesn't bother me - usually whatever i catch from the water...after all now you can't move fish about you have to use what's there. I don't mind using anything as long as it's under about 8" - with the exception of small jacks that is. I'll quite happily use these up to about a pound / 10-12".
For perch i tend to use small roach, minnows, and if i can get them my number 1 is gudgeon.

remember to send away for your permit to use live fish . or the bailiff will be onto you . it takes about 10 working days or more . to get one send to dep fisheries division .79 elm street .6th floor hartford . ct06106 . in scotland wee cant use live bait . its unbelievable they will ban it next in england

Re: live baits
Today I received the current "Pikelines" magazine from the PAC. Page 10 (NewsFeed2) carries the headline "ENGLISH NATURE POLICY May Threaten Livebaiting's Future".
The Government Agency 'Natural England' is calling for an outright ban
The PAC is obviously opposing the ban
Its all very complicated for me to try to explain..

Most of the issue is dedicated to the late Professor Barrie Rickards, a founder member of the PAC

Re: live baits
i love live baits and will use anything i can get allthough i do prefer roach for the reason that most of the waters i fish are full of them,,,,,, oh forgot im from scotland and were not allowed to use lives anymore so obviously i would never do such a thing.

the law on this is if you catch livebaits from the fishery were they were caught the should be retained and used on the same day . using live baits on other waters in england wales you must first odtain section 30 concent . application form it takes about 10 days working days . it might take longer . if you live in scotland you cant use live bait . you can blame yvonne taylor from the ethical treatment of animals . dont put fish in a tank in your home or yvonne will be round burning you out your
you wrote it. speeks for it's self.
