hi all im new to the forum and to pike fishing really, this winter ive planned to do as much pike fishing as I can sticking purely to lure fishing.. my question is what size of lures would you guys recommend, ive recently baught a few savage gear soft 4 play 9.5cm but they seem to only catch me tiny pike. the places I fish I know there are bigger pike. do I need bigger lures.. im not after monsters just bigger than about 1lb haha. if you could recommend some lures I would be massively thankful.

Hi Sam,welcome to the forum,I'm a big fan of soft plastics and can recommend Kopytos,I use them up to 6" in length. It all depends what your set up is up to casting.
A good place to look is Lure World and also AGM Products,I'll put the links up for them,if they dont work as I'm quite rubbish at tec.stuff go on the L.A.S.website.

you'll likely struggle to throw larger lures on that rod sam, although it'll be ideal for when you are targeting smaller species such as perch, chub, Zander etc.

You'll be better off getting a setup that gives you the option of chucking larger lures, a 7ft or 8ft 15g-40g rod should be ideal for pike sized lures.

hi sam been having some nice fish on the fox replicant in the 6 to 9 inch range going to try even bigger ones in the future but like the lads on here recommend you need the right out fit to cast the heavier stuff and believe me you still catch the smaller fish on big lures just look at some of the fish I had last week on anybody catching just go back a few pages .....
