I've been trying as well and I've got a mate manning the phones, no favours asked none offered so forget about the chew ticket conspiracy being put about, either that or he doesn't like me  Laughing

your possibly right stubbo, what goes on behind the scenes I don't know but us mere mortals all have an equal chance on the phones even it is a lottery

I think its madness all this chasing the big girls on these heavily fished waters
give me my local and a proud 20lb fish any day of the week
I love my pike that's why I feel no need to chase them all over the country
give me any pike from 1 lb to what ever lb
make the most of what you have on your door step theirs way more satisfaction in that for me
but that's just my opinion
no trophys just smiles and enjoying the out doors

each to his own, thats the beauty of fishing, you can do what ever floats your boat, whats good for one is not always good for another. take fly fishing for pike, never catch me trying that, dont even like lure fishing, but i dont knock or pull down those that do. live and let live Very Happy

totally agree lads each to there own
I was just voicing my own opinion that's all lads
also caught my pb in Cheshire a ten min bike ride away
took 1 rod 1 float 1 trace and a few lures
just before dark I landed a 24 lb
never forget it
also same day had a 5 lb fish which still to this day was prettiest pike ive seen
my pb pic is the worst pic ive got of any of my catches

it depends on how many big fish you have caught in your life time it could be youve had a few good upper twentys and just shy of that elusive 30lb fish its always a good feeling catching a good fish 20lb plus fish but i think everyman on here wouldnt give up the chance of catching a magical thirty its like my pb is 28lb then found out my scales were 3lb out years later but ha ho i does not bother me as at 28lb still was a very good fish but even now i dont go round saying ive hads a thirty ........thats just me
