Well in stubbo, it can be deadly, just like Ash, I think it's Sumat that I wish I did more, I used to have one set up for it all the time but it didn't get much use...... I've just decided to make a concerted effort drifting now,

obviously the wind has got to be right  not too windy or it will go to fast I like a just a bit of ripple  that will take it about 100 yards in say 15 minutes or there abouts

then just send it out in different positions you can cover a lot of water and fish.........  live baits would work better on this but the waters I fish don't allow ,so I used a dead roach and small joeys work to  but my favourite are skimmer bream  I seem to get more takes on them Very Happy

Do very little of it, but one on the drifter Image10

Had 4 13ft 3 1/4 drifter rods for many years for fishing bigger waters, sold 3 off now but saved 1 if ever fancy a spot of drifting but most likely be the rod I try chucking a big bait on Very Happy

I used a ten foot 3lb test curve rod on sunday but normally its 12 .5 drifter rod by greys

50lb braid power pro or it could be heavier 80lb maybe forgot whats on the reel

a word of warning when drifter fishing watch out for swans they can be a right pain they can drop in at anytime and catch you out

had a Evil or Very Mad few near missis with them getting braid caught around there legs ............

looks a great method mate , I suppose you just need the right direction of wind at the right strength,

give it a go pal , you could always anchor up and drift it away from the boat maybe best suited to still waters ,where on a river you could trot a normal float down in the same way.. What a Face
