Yes it was very muddy its the only place where you can get down the waters edge to land the fish.

new venue today

Post  stubbo on Sun Nov 30, 2014 7:03 pm

went back to a venue that I have not fished for about 10 years

first cast out with a lure produced a take on the surface the pike made a grab for it then it came off then chased it back to the shallows and took it again but it came off again .

then my right rod went away which I struck straight away connected with a good fish but yet again it came off after 10 seconds or so .
then next thing the middle rod went off a real screamer of a run , this time it held on gave me a good scrap gave me the impression of a bigger fish on the end .
all the activity had drawn a bit of a crowd by this time so carefully unhooking the fish on the bank yes you guessed it the left rod goes ballistic by the time I had unhooked the fish and returned her in double quick time the rod was still screaming off at speed thought to my self at least this will be on .....struck into nothing would you believe it had all that action in about 15 minutes thought a would have a nice relaxing day chilling out pike fishing:lol: Laughing

Over the weekend 28th to the 30th November i took a LONG trip out to the Isle Of Bute, and fished Loch Fad. Recently been shut for 1 1/2 years due to a lice problem.

only allowing pikers on there at present to get a rough guide of fish sizes etc etc etc (it will take years to get it back)

anyway, landed 19 fish to a POOR 14lb 4oz. No big girls showed, but thats fishing.

the place was stunning, clean, tidy and superb

2 other guys from Glasgow fished it the same time and only landed 5 fish.

baits where boated out to over 120 yards, also was fishing close it and middle range from around 70 yards. Everything was on herring (nice and oily)

was a great experience, im on Ringstead trout lake sunday for the day, hoping for a big one

Been out today, had a very small jack that wouldn't have gone 2lb. But thank the fishing gods for that because its all we caught all day No No No
but a fish is a fish and not a dreaded blank. Smile
