favorite dead bait rig?

Post  stephen7 on Sun Nov 08, 2015 8:41 pm

I use the ssame rig all the time a sliding dart float with a stopper about 5 or 6 ft and size 6 trace no weight or shot. I've. Never tried eny other rigs as I'm new to fishing and don't have bite alarms to try a ledger.

So what are your favorite rigs?

This is a good rig and very sensitive I've had a lot of pike on this setup its good for close range up to about 30 metres maybe a little more  Very Happy
Simple a stop knot or ledger stop which is what I use a fox pencil float or similar a bead running ledger link to attach your weight ( or use a drilled weight straight on the line ) another bead rubber ones are good as it will take the buffeting of the lead weight then your snap tackle !
Move the stop knot so your float just about lays flat when you cast to your chosen spot then put your rod on its rests and tighten up so the float cocks and only the top half of the red section is showing and when you get a take the float will either pop up and lay flat or slip away  Very Happy  pull in to as soon as possible and you should be in to your pike  Very Happy
Someone else may show you one of their favourite methods soon  Question

the deadbait pencil floats are extremely sensitive and are my preferred choice if i don't have alarms. Cool

WARNING

I attempted to get a closer look at the picture of the rig by dragging it to the top bar of my browser and got a message which looked like it came from Firefox telling me to update my video player. When I did so it planted several Trojans and infected files into my machine.

Macafee has dealt with them but without quality virus screening I might not have been so lucky.

No idea why that happened Eric but to be on the safe side I've deleted it and used the same photo off Photobuckets

The old one is on my computer and there's no problems with it scratch  Maybe its the sites uploading system although I've not had any problems with it before Neutral

Just to add its not a photo of my rig its one off the net its just the same set up but I use braid instead of mono

I tend to use the same rig as Adie, except I use a bung type float with the line running through it.
It keeps the line off the water, avoiding all the leaves etc that come down the river.

If I had to guarantee a fish , I would have to go with sunken float paternoster , it could be just me but as a few on here will know , it always seems to wangle me one out when my other rods are blanking 😀
