its a hard choice between smelt and brown trout for me but i would have to say smelt most sucsess so far

I cant choose between Smelt, Mackerel and Sardine. always have these with me.

freshly caught herrings which I catch myself , tail end of mackerel , smelt , trout .

freshly caught roach if allowed Cool

Strangely enough it was Belgium I first saw them being used. I watched a local fishing one under a small float in the moat around emblem fort. Was catching big perch and zander while my roach dead sits were totally ignored.

Thankfully laws have been drasticly modified the last ten years
To protect pike,
They were at real risk of extinction in these parts but our fishery comision enlisted anglers to catch pike for breeding programs
And to great effect because numbers are rising again
