Dropshotting

Am I the only one who doesn't get this? It's more like ledgering with artificial bait than lure fishing!

And if you upscale to an ounce lead 1 mm thick flouro and a size 0/2 hook on a 20 cm shad
It can be a very effective way of persuading difficult inactive winter pike right near the bottom
Especially if you know they are there but you can't get them to take

The most fun ever is drifting slowly on the boat, trailing a couple of float fished deads for the Pike, whilst dropshotting for Perch. Passes the day brilliantly and you get pike on 1" lures too Very Happy i havnt had a double doing it yet but some great fighting 8lbs I guess.

How does the Fluro stand up to pike teeth? I wouldn't feel confident not using a trace personally

I use it all the time mind u it's 110/100 120pound and it needs replacing after a few pike
But I feel confident using it on our heavy pressured waters it can make the difference between catching or not
that and your only using a single hook
If it snaps he has little trouble getting rid of it
