Re: Anybody Catching
Going back today armed with the drifter rods, maybe they want it super slow. If I had livebaits they would have nailed them all I bet. Shame its illegal over here. Yes I like it lol
Re: Anybody Catching
Well I'm out on the pole on the coarse water (carp, roach, bream, perch) but will have a rod out to the side of my swim for the pike. Hoping the activity from feeding the prey fish will lure them in. I shall report back.

Re: Anybody Catching
I was out yesterday I blanked but I did have the joy of playing an otter for half hour before the line snapped. Hell of a fight.

Re: Anybody Catching
One pike at 7lb 12oz and nothing else. Not a single bite on the maggot on the pole which implied that the prey fish were no where to be found. Three other guys out for pike today but I was the only one to catch. We had very sharp frost earlier in the week causing the lake to freeze over to two days. Not sure if that had any bearing on the fishing, as it's been quite mild for the last couple of days.

Re: Anybody Catching
It took a pollam. It came out of the water onto the bank ten feet away, with its mate. It was a big dog otter.
It dived bank into the water and broke the line, but I did get my weight back!!!

i went the canal tiday for a change and walked about 3 miles of bank with just a drifter float having the odd cast hear and there.i eventualy settled at a boat yard wear id arranged my pick up of the wife as she works next door.and i ended up with a lovely fat chunky fish around 15 could of been more but the pic isnt great because i got a 6 year old kid who was riding past to take the pic.
