how do from sw scotland
hiya just found the forum and joined ! fairly recently moved back to south west scotland after 18 years away . ive fished for 48 years for various course and game fish but have started to get an interest again in doing a bit of piking after picking a couple of decent fish up whilst trying for ferox a couple of years back, i used to do a bit way back "about 20 years ago " and used to be in pac ,but havent things moved on ! ive still to get completely kitted out with tackle etc as other than a bit of trolling tackle almost everything else is for game fishing
ive not bought any tackle for years ,there seems to be some very cheap rods about now like the shakespear sigma as an example! have things improved or is it still better to get something a bit better quality ? i need reels as well any suggestions appreciated for any pike related gear ,"looking for dead bait rods and reels" money is reasonably tight "aint it always?"so if i can keep the costs down a bit it would help as its a full set im looking for

Welcome back to the real sport fish A good cheap second hand rod that will do anything you ask and still play fish well is the Wychwood rogue power pike 3.5lbtc. I love them/ Any shimano baitrunner or Okuma if money is really tight. Enjoy.
