Norfolk Broads Empty Norfolk Broads

Post  oneboltwalt Thu Nov 10, 2016 1:55 pm

Hi all,
Me and a friend live in the south west and have decided to go on a pike fishing holiday for a week to the Norfolk broads in December.
Neither of us have fished the broads before, so any advice would be appreciated. We are hiring a dory, so plan on being very mobile to try and find the fish. We both usually fish with lures, so will be starting off with what we know best and also taking a selection of deadbaits with us.
Any tips on locations, bait or tactics would be a big help.
Thanks.

Hi mate, welcome to our forum...... it's a big place the broads, the lads on here would only give you specific places by pm. As for tactics, lures is the way to start so you will be sure to find a few with a bit of luck. 20 years or so since I ventured down there but tiny roach deads worked a treat for the pike and occasional Zander, the odd big eel too.
Let us know how you do please.....and good luck !

I know two lads who go there regularly and they have most success at night, catch plenty of lives in the day, when the boat traffic is bad

Thanks for the advice. We are going to be staying in horning, so fishing around that area to start. Is this a good area for pike?
