top 3 favourite lures
I figured it might be fun if we could start a thread where we Al put our top 3 favourite lures
Il start us of
Nr 1 is the westin platypus 120mm suspending
Nr 2 is a hand built jerk bait from holand named de ommekeer
Nr 3 is difficult because there are many contenders but I'd have to go with a good old fashion meps in red

Good idea but I bet theres not 2 people with the same choices
I mostly troll so big lures for big pike mentality for me.

No2 Cyclone shad bream pattern 10"
No3 Old 10" replicant in perch or Rainbow trout.

I don't have a favourite lure, each one is a tool that can be used for a different purpose. If your favourite lure was a floating slider and you were confronted with a scenario where all the pike are at a depth of 30ft in murky water then you'd be stuffed.

Re: top 3 favourite lures
I've been catching well on Bass Harassers this season but that's because they are perfectly suited to the stillwater I'm fishing. Soon I'll be fishing the Wye and I'll be using different lures. The top ten fish I've caught this year have fallen to an assortment of jerkbaits, spinnerbaits and swimbaits, all selected to match the water and the conditions on the day. Like I say, I don't have a favourite lure.

Re: top 3 favourite lures
Most of my fishing is in old ww1 fort moats no deeper than maybe 10 11 foot (2,5 3 meters)
Canals with same depths and some park waters that don't exede 6 foot
So my favourite does the trick everywhere within a 20 mile radius and that gives me 25 good locations
But I agree I have 8 different colour platypi and with them having 2 different eyelets they have 2 actions and swimming depths
So I can adjust to match colour of most plentiful available prey fish and brighter versions for more murky water
And I chose the action and depth depending on time of year and temperature

My current (well for the last year at least) list is as follows
1) 40cm real eel in the standard eel pattern
2) storm 'kickin shad' in 6" bleeding roach pattern ( I brought up a few of these as the dealer told me they were being discontinued
3) 4play jointed in a silver colour
