Would I be right in thinking that the first 20 has already spawned and the second one is yet to spawn? Looks like the first one could have actually been heavier had it still been full of eggs.

Great fish and good photos too! cheers

Outstanding fish - incredibly long too! I catch very lean pike from the Highlands with the longest 104cm/18lb 4oz. A gut on that fish would put it well over 30lbs.

I really must come for a guided fishing trip. I've never been to Ireland and I've yet to catch a 20lber.

Probably the last trip on the river this season, today. Started ok with a low double in the first hour.
But then the winds came, very blustery until mid afternoon and no runs. Then when the wind settled and the water calmed down , the pike came out to play. The only problem being , they were playing with each other in the margins and not with us ! Stuck it out for another hour with Pete and Tony, but we decided to leave them to it. Wind apart, it has to have been the warmest day of the year so far, so no surprise really.

Well those six days went fast!!!!!! 25.7 20.4 19.9 19.7 18.10 18.8 18.4 9 other doubles and 19 jacks plus missed lost 15 more. Horrible weather and water rising by the day caused the poor fishing bounce bounce bounce Roll on next season lol

This will be my 500th post. We were out again yesterday and once again a jack saved me from blanking.

Just two more bank trips planned then it's packing up till September on the pike front and onto Barbel fishing.

Just got back from what might be my last pike trip before hanging the pike rods up ( maybe not sure yet lol )
had 4 pike but all between 5 and 8lb and had 7 yes 7 dropped runs probable smaller pike and lost two so although no big ones it was still a nice day sat out on the bank it the sun with a high banking to our backs to keep most of the wind off Very Happy we were that worm we had to take layers off to cool down lol
didn't bother taking any pics just unhooked them in the net and put them back straight away Smile
Oh well soon be summer lol
