my new boat venue

Post  stubbo on Sun Jan 06, 2019 7:27 pm

been out today , nice day overcast and not a breath of wind
started on the lures but no follows or takes
so found a nice quiet corner and settled in with some float fishing..... over depth in 25ft of water  and had 2 jacks and one about 14lb

so all in all 3 visits to date and  9 pike taken up to now........and lost a big girl on first visit to lures

sorry about the pictures
I was on my own today

I had to days fishing in Scotland. I had a 11lb 13lb (picture) and 13.11 and six Jack's. Nice to catch something after two blanks.

leap frogging to a big fat blank

Post  stubbo on Thu Jan 10, 2019 4:57 pm

went out yesterday , on a local canal  where in the past I have had some nice pike , fished about half a mile away from my parked car and proceeded to leap frog my way back , spending roughly twenty mins in each peg,  it took about 3 hours to get back to the car , resulting in zero pike , fished 3 rods tight up the barges just kept the rods moving covering every barge in that stretch , not even a knock or a dip of the floats , also casting a small lure too in-between the rods  not a sniff......   that's pike fishing. affraid that's the first blank for ages for me
