Re: looking for a new lure rod
Hi noodle
about 9 foot long will be ideal and i am using a fixed spool reel.
the lures are no bigger than 6 inches long, quite light.

Re: looking for a new lure rod
the world is your oyster then i have two drennan esox spinflex ods that come with a 2.5 test rating, i use them for just about everything from stalking carp every now and then to throwin lures in the sea trolling baits and lures in the boat
lure wise i tend to use them with crankbaits like baby depthraiders storm shallow and big macs abu terminators etc ill sort a photo out of the lures to give you an idea but most wont weigh much over two ounces
extremely verastatile BUT they have quite a slow taper so may not be the best for throwing lures all the time, dont get me wrong they are good but there may be better out there from the likes of shimano daiwa greys fox wyhcwood etc
the piker multispin by fox ws ok but i only used it once for half an hour
photo the compartments are six inches long to give you an idea of the size

Re: looking for a new lure rod
Check out the Prologic rods mate. I use an 8' 6 Savagear MP Predator for those kinds of lures and also used it for stalking carp. Good rod for about £45-55. Had no bother with mine and used it weekly for about 6 months now.

fox rods are usually very good just be wary ot the reel seats, take what ever reel your planning on using and give it a good play
Re: looking for a new lure rod
The majority of Fox rods I've handled have been very good quality for the price. I can't think of any I really didn't like.

new rod
I would also recomend a savage mp pedator 8'6" 30-90grm i use mine for pretty much all of my lure angling and it handles the big beasties too. i have used lures like the bbz 1 10" quite a heavy lure and had no problems with it all.

if you can still get one try a shimano beast master 8ft 10-30g 4 section comes in a nice handy case that would fit in most backpacks.
