Welcome to the forum SNAGGLETOOTH cheers

You will find most of questions answered by the friendly lot on here, however, venues remain taboo for reasons explained here http://pikeangler.forumotion.com/general-pike-fishing-f1/venue-naming-policy-from-11-10-08-t95.htm

Look forward to your posts

Andy

hi andy, thanks for your reply, understand the need to keep certain information taboo, just trying to avoid the crowds after making a 200 mile plus round trip to a venue in oxfordshire, only to find guys setting up bivvies behind pegs that were already occupied by bivvies in anticipation of those anglers vacating said pegs, talk about highly pressured water eh!.long way to travel on a 3am get up for no sport, looking forward to a session next weekend will post results, bye for now ,off out on a recce

That sounds like hell. We all love to find the quiet places and there must be loads of them closer to home for you. Mind you, isn't Derbyshire full of trout clubs that frown on, nae despise the pike angler? There must be some great places for you to go. The mighty River Trent for one. (Oops does that count as breaking my own rules No lol! ) You won't be queuing for a peg on there. Although me and MBA got to the Trent ready for midnight one June 16th many moons ago and found the whole place solid with match anglers. Nightmare Mad

Trent is ok when the water is right... Young Alex & I discovered today it was high, brown and turbulent... All being well, he will report on todays fishing, rain, broken rods, Bazz's lure bag landing in the lake, Bazz's wind knot he couldn't undo blah blah blah lol!

Welcome snaggletooth, you're just up the road from me, I used to fish the Reservoir up near you quiet a bit about 20 years ago before it got over-run with the carp lads and when the bailiff would sell you a ticket on the bank, last time I went (last winter) the bailiff came out of his bivvy and wanted me to drive out miles looking for some visitor centre and wait for it to open to buy a ticket before I started fishing.. Pft Evil or Very Mad
