worst lure ever

Post  noodle on Tue Dec 01, 2009 11:19 pm

we have had the best lure faviroute lure thread,

now how about the worst lure youve ever had the bad judgement to have spent your money on?
not cheapo nasty ones that have cost 2 quid but lures that cost real money and have been truly shocking for you

anyone?

im stuck on two which is the worst is hard to decide

the rapala SSR
the squirelly burt

both alledgedy great lures but for me id have been as well just throwing a tenner into the water

Fox Chomper (the big 20cm one). LOL They get rated well but as you say Noodle, I ought to have just walked to the water and thrown in a tenner for all it did for me.

The Salmo Warrior is also crap in my opinion.

Anything Spro throws up (spinners, lures, etc) has been of the worst quality, in my experience, from lures that cost real money.

The finish on my pikefighter split badly down one side and that was without the aid of a pike! God knows how. To be fair though, they do swim well and the rise is really slow albeit 100% vertical (that is tail pointing skyward).

Ive got a few of their spinners and the wire bent through nothing but being tangled on the retrieve...Rubbish.

I have fancied one of the BBZ's as they appear to swim very well.

I right fancy making one of these though mate LOL http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1gsW8xoR5jo&feature=related

try the dingos from tackle industries (us) or franglais fishing (uk)

or one i like akita lures

these only come in a muskie sink rate though ie very fast

funny! i tried an rapala SSR continuosly and never caught anything on it - so i sold it on ebay. having said that the Rapala xrap (perch) is one of my all time winners. I lost a Fox Chomper. Never replaced it - cause I never caught anything on that either.

Lures are expensive! I can't afford many. Has anyone used the Savage Gear 4play? I read good reviews on that, and would like to buy one. But don't want to spend my 's if it isn't worthwhile.

The Savage 4 play are great lures. Slow sinking, just reel them in and watch them imitating a fish. Give them a twitch too.

Yup the 4Plays are mint. Get the 25cm one. Ive found this to be the best of the bunch. The dirty silver one then the fire tiger worked best for me. The Koi pattern is amusing and Ive caught on it.

Try the freestyler jerks. They arent bad either mate.
