Piking Books

Post  Andy Webster on Mon Jan 11, 2010 10:31 pm

Lets have your recommendations for good piking books.

I have just read Neville Ficklings Piking in the 80's which I picked up cheaply on ebay. I enjoyed the book and found the sections on varieties of different waters interesting. It is also fascinating to read how a lot of ideas have stayed the same, indeed we probably owe a lot more to the anglers from the era Nev writes about in this book (60's and onwards) than we care to admit.

Any other good reads?

I've read Neville ficklings Piking in the 80's a few years back And i found it to be a good read and very informative !

Two pike books i've got at the moment are
1' Fox guide to modern pike angling
which i find to be excellent !
Very good diagrams And of course most of it is from Mick Brown whom i think is one of the best pike anglers around Very Happy

2' Pike fishing The practice & the passion
Once again i love this book Not as many pics and diagrams as the other one but just as good a read And its by Mick Brown again Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy
You may have gathered by now that i like Mick Brown lol Its true he is my hero cheers
