Landing nets

Post  stevecrm on Wed Feb 10, 2010 8:24 pm

Which landing net should I use and where?

I have got a 42" landing net for carp fishing and for pike fishing when I am staying in the same place while fishing. if I am roaming and travelling light with a rucksack, what sort of landing net should I have with me? I do take my 42" net but its pretty awkward to carry around.

so what do you guys carry around when roaming ?

When I'm roaming I end up carrying my 42" around with me as well. lol Laughing
Could do with something more suitable.
I'm not up on landing nets but I'd imagine a round net of some size with a folding handle.

Any recommendations guys?

I would be ok if I had a teaspoon with a hole drilled in it for the fish i seem to catch nowdays, lol.

I watched a program last weekend where they were catching catfish on the river Ebro in spain, the bloke had a landing net the size of a small boat Shocked

I've got a PredX rubber coated oval net for lure fishing. I think it measures something like 30" x 24".
I suppose one of them could be used.

I got it from Fishing Republic for £15.99.
