if you want a compact to carry one and are not too fussed about the timeit takes to put up then buy a tent (green one) most of the dome style bivvies are nothing more than a tent and will cost you a fair bit more

bivvys ive owned of this style include the giant bivvy (brilliant bit of gear if you can find one they are spot on) the cypry dome from shakespere and a quick erect one (fox easy dome similar to a khyam tent but far too bulky and unstable for my liking)

or you can go down the brolly system route wychwood spd daiwa mission etc all single skin though and very quick to put up

more dedicated fishing ones like titan styles or the pram hood style (armadillo) are usually heavy but tend to be extremely (titan/viper) stable and quite stable (armadilo's etc)

price wise a 3 man tent from a camping shop 30-50 quid the same size bivvy will start at 50 quid or so

up to titan's aqua armadillos 2-300 quid

if your sleeping on the floor the only real option is a tent as they are twin skinned and more importantly have a sewn in ground sheet

i dont know if you plan on using a bed chair hence that comment please dont take it personally, and if it helps i quite often (well used to before the days of children) sleep on the floor in inaccesible areas using either a bivvy bag or in rough weather a msr one man tent
