iv'e been making these for a few years now, they work very well at the right time of year,spring time,i use them in lilys, the takes are unreal.

Shocked I make my own, Get a toy mouse from the pet shop, I think they are 6 for 2:50, Wire trace through it, 1 set of trebles with the weed guards on, And a swivel on the other end, Jobs a goodun, Just remember to hold on tight to your rod, Cool Shocked Cool

^^^ Sounds like a good little project. I have a mate who used to make his own pike floats from yellow rubber ducks, he got some funny looks fishing with a duck on the lake HAHA. said it was great when he had a run and the duck started moving across the water. Stopped using them though, said they had too much resistance, but good for a laugh Laughing

Very Happy Shocked The strangest float i use is a tennis ball, Shocked Have used them for sea fishing for years, Known as a poachers float haha Very Happy Very Happy Must try the rubber duck Razz Sounds like good fun Smile

A cork or a carrot or a tub full of bearings (See Charlie Bettell's creations) dragged through lilies etc. at the right time of year will catch pike.
I've tried a few weedless topwater lures, frogs and stuff but I tend to find the pike just snapped at them more often not. Lots of action and heart-stopping moments but very few actual hookups. Can be a little frustrating but still fun all the same.
