microns are good if you're fishing with baitrunners in freespool mode but if you're fishing with open bale arms/drop off indication then stay away from the micron m mate.... i have some and they just do not indicate a run properly with non-tensioned line running across them (the line roller is too small and set too tight).
as for the warrior i have no idea as i have never used one.

i'd recommend these purely on the basis that if they're anything like the original optonic alarms i used to use then they will be fantastic for the purpose of indcating any movement from a taking pike.....

maybe someone else on here has had experience with this particular alarm and will be able to tell you more

Yeah, the sundridge optronics are great for picking up line vibration as well as the standard movement..
Ideally everyone wants delkims but they're a nice price too! affraid

So I opted for the sundridge optronics but this version..........

help which alarm Optonic3-vwd

£80 in the shops but I managed to get a brand new set off eBay for £50! Razz

OK, they may not be to everyone's taste but these have got several things I was after.

1. Optronic
2. An on/off switch - I hate people reeling in lines over alarms!
3. Wireless receiver in case I go carp fishing. lol Laughing

The Fox micron MX's seem to have a good reputation, Before i had my own bait gear bazz lent me his Mx's and they seem to beep at every knock and kick. But From what I have Heard They 'sometimes let in water.. scratch scratch scratch (I think it is not true just something to pull me legs) Also i have heard good reports on the M2's. The BillyBackBiter's seem to be very popular among pike anglers.

the new optonics (by daiwa) are nothing like the old ones they use magnets like the m series form fox

you can work around the line skip in a few ways depending on how confident you are fiddling with things

simplest way but the eye tight to the alarm

next up the scale make a solid wire adaptor to fit onto your rod with some pult elastic that sits below the line slot in the alarm, when the line passes under that it puts just enough tension in to spin the wheel

third and the most awkward but the best

pull the alarm apart and fit a rubber o ring to the wheel your line sits on for a lot more grip on the wheel

Good choice mate - they are excellent. Just make sure you push in the swinger properly when you set them up. I didn't at the last fish-in and it fell out with very little movement as witnessed by Robh...lol totally my fault tho - top bit of kit IMO.

yeah gotta agree there lol... apart from the arm falling out (which was easily put back on so no worries there) i was really impressed... so much that if i had the cash i'd buy 2 of them myself and use my modded micron p's as backups Very Happy

i have 2 fox warrior alarms i use when deadbaiting on the bottom ...
i cant really complain about them,,,, get the odd beep caused by the weather but that happens with all alarms..
i honestly cant remember losing a fish due to bad bite detection,,, i use swingers with them so u cant really go wrong.
end of the day the bite alarm market is massive if you can afford to get dalkiems then get them if not then get what works for you
