i caught this while practicing casting....on a local lake....lol....

well done mate, it must be a real confodence booster catching a pike on the fly especially if you fishing for them.well done

I've had 19 pike (averaging about 8lbs) in 3 hours on the fly (lost on I reckon was going well over 20).

That's more than I've ever had on lures and possibly more than I've had on baits.

It's deadly on the right day. I'd be well confident at this time of year.

had a couple of good sessions since that small fish had nine pike one day from 3lb to 16lb like you say get it right you cant beat it ,,,,,

as it warms up it gets better and better,when you see that big fish come up just before you lift the fly out, you see a flare of gills,your knees knock,your heart races and the world stops .....its' just you and a fish locked in a tussle.....with only one winner......

yes mate,
i have had a lot of work,course studies, exams, time trials,new assistants to mentor lifes pritty hectic at moment so when ever i can i grab my rod and take off with a bit a fluff....

That looks well smart Jeff. That said, the 19 I caught were taken on 3 bits of red marabou whipped onto an Aberdeen. It bore more resmblance to a mackerel feather but once stripped, it rippled, shimmered, came to life and the pike were right into it.

they look the dogs jeff good colour what length is the lure mine probably half that size not used to casting a big lure yet but getting there thanks for the pic
